Something New

Hey My Friends,
I have a gazillion and one things to talk with you about.
I feel like I've written about six different posts in my head to catch you up on the progress of our kitchen renovation, my brother-in-law's new Etsy shop, my newly organized creative room, my spring Etsy line, and the beautiful funeral for my precious grandfather... so much has been going on around here lately and blogging has had to take a back seat.
Another reason blogging has been on the back burner is that I have a new love... painting!
Who knew I would enjoy it this much?! I've been experimenting with a little bit of mixed media and painting.
If crafts can be scary, painting is at the top of my list. (OK maybe a close second behind glass blowing, because who wouldn't be totally freaked out about a piece of molten glass that close to your face... I haven't tried it yet, but it's on my bucket list. I digress...)
Painting is scary because rather than manipulating a product like fabric or yarn into something else, when painting you start with absolutely nothing. Literally a blank canvas. Eeek! It's all your imagination and you just hope someone else will like it too.
Well like it they have and my paintings are moving too quickly for me to post about them here and tell you what's going on. That's crazy exciting and humbling!

I feel like right when those seeds of doubt start to take root ("No one will like these crazy things.") God finds just the right way to encourage me. He's so tender and thoughtful like that! Has He done that in your life lately? I want to hear about it!

  6. Sarah - I could so relate to your post yesterday about occasional discouragement and God's faithfulness to boost you up just when you needed it. My site has been slow first quarter too and I was beginning to question if I was on the right track. This morning, I had a sweet order and another inquiry about making three more custom frames...God is so good!

Love you paintings, too...there's a sweet innocence to them....just perfect for a nursery!
