Scraptastic Giveaway!!

My friend Liza of Lizajane Baby gave me a big bag of beautiful scraps today!  These itty bitty pieces of gorgeous designer fabric deserve to be made into something wonderful and I have something up my sleeve...
I want to give you a chance to keep a fun little creation made out of these scraps!   From now until Friday, Nov. 14th at midnight I'll be collecting your best ideas of what to make from these scraps.  Get creative and leave me a post!  If possible, include a link to a picture.  We all will get to benefit from each other's creative ideas!
The best ideas I could come up with were baby blocks, covered buttons and bookmarks... I know you all can do better than that!  On Saturday, Nov. 15th I'm going to choose the best idea, then I'll make one for me and one for you and send it to you!
So feel free to leave multiple ideas, just please leave one post per idea to keep it easier to read and no anonymous posts please.  Check back often to see what other creative people do with their scraps!

I've been looking at vintage aprons lately, and think all those cute fabrics could be turned into some patchwork pieced half-aprons! Have fun with whatever you decide - nice stash!

Hi! I used to live in Raleigh. I graduated from Broughton High. Thanks for your comment on my blog. Looks like you've got the makings for a quilt or two there. I love a crazy nine patch, I'd love to try one.

And this idea isn't the most original - but you've got some great fabrics there for a good selection of burp cloths! You could make all kinds for baby shower gifts!

Hi I found your blog through my buddy Mel. I am thinking super simple, but it would look so cool to put the fabric in a frame and just use it as art work. I have done this with wallpaper and wrapping paper before...

QUILTED NAME PILLOW

I've seen this idea on my sister's friends blog and it looks awesome. I've been wanting to do it, but never got around to it. The link to the picture is

If it doesn't show up her blog is aprilmoffattdesign.blogspot.com and it's the "hughes" pillow.
There's no pattern listed, but it looks pretty self-explanatory...

From my scraps lately I am making or planning:

Rag Dolls
http://www.thisclassicallife.com/weblog/index.php/archives/845

Hand Appliqued shirts or sets if I have enough for a little skirt (look for a blog post soon.)

Coasters, Table Runner, etc.

Quilt squares to save in a stack until I have enough for a quilt (especially from pieces of old clothing and fabric I used for clothes or meaningful projects.)

I am glad I found your blog :)

You could make baby girl head bands.

nattandmatt.blogspot.com said...

I think a quilt or blanket would be really cute if you used some of the same fabric patterns with them.

nattandmatt.blogspot.com said...

I also think you could make glasses-whether sunglasses or regular covers with these fabrics!

nattandmatt.blogspot.com said...

Or you could make pot holders...I made them years ago for my grandparents for christmas presents and they loved them! They are super easy (i would def recommend a sewing machine).

nattandmatt.blogspot.com said...

Ok...I'm totally thinking wedding :) but if you made ring-bearer pillows. I've seen them on wedding blogs. Just make a small pillow with the cute fabric and sew a ribbon on top to secure the ring with.

nattandmatt.blogspot.com said...

Tote bags with the fabric would be sweet

nattandmatt.blogspot.com said...

Oops...saw someone had already said head band and blanket now! :(

But also, you look like you have a good bit, you could even make throw pillow covers?

What about a patchwork ruffled apron? With layers of ruffles. That would be really cute!

Anonymous said...

You could make an adorable "ragamuffin" garland! Just cut the pieces into strips and tie them onto a long piece of ribbon. They are so cute hung over a kids bed.

Or patchwork purses/totebags?
