Extreme Makeover: The Not-So Extreme Edition!

A New Year...
A New Decade... (whoa!)
A New Look...

If you subscribe to this blog in a reader, you may want to pop on over for a visit. I've added a menu bar with a couple of new links.
See the teeny menu hanging out there under my header? I know, I know... it's not that extreme of a makeover, but it's really exciting for me!

On my new menu adventure I learned how to:
  • Take a screen shot like the one in the picture above (If you have a Mac, hold down the "command", "shift" and "4" buttons then use the curser to choose the part of your screen you want to capture. It automatically saves the image to your desktop then you can open it and save it where ever you'd like.) Is this the coolest thing?
  • Make a photo collage like this one: You can do this for free over at www.picnik.com. There are a ton of really neat techniques that you can do for free and without having to download any software. That's what I'm talking about people!
  • Adding the menu its self was a little more tricky, but I had a great tutor. Shannon from Shannon Makes Stuff helped walk me through it. Directions here.
So why all of the makeover-ing you ask? I was asked to compete in the next "season" of So You Think You're Crafty! This "season" Missy has asked about 20 different bloggers if they would be interested in auditioning for a spot in the competition! We will each submit our best craft for the audition week (January 11th). And you will vote for your favorite one! The top 10 vote getters will compete February 1- April 12 for the title of "So You Think You're Crafty Season 2 Champion!"

I really hope I can make it past the auditioning round because I think it would be a blast to compete each week! Mark your calendar to vote on January 11th over at So You Think You're Crafty! I can't tell you anything about my craft, except that I love it! The creators are all anonymous until after the voting is over.

Congrats on the new look and congrats on So You Think You're Crafty! I am hoping hoping hoping you get in. We didn't have to "audition"- how nerve wracking. Hopefully I'll be able to spot your project so that I can vote for you. ;) It was super challenging but also very fun. I'm excited for you.
Happy New Year!!
