Christmas Tablescape Ideas

Our church's women's ministry puts on a fabulous event every year to get us all excited about Thanksgiving and Christmas and to help set our focus before the crazy season begins. There are about 300 women who attend and all of the tables are decorated by volunteers. I always come away with a ton of really great ideas for table decorations, new recipes to try and ideas for keeping Christ the focus of the season. Can I share some of my favorite tables with you?

Here's a great idea for a party favor. Each plate had a cookie cutter filled with homemade fudge... yum!
My favorite tables are the ones that use non-traditional colors. How much would you love to have a Christmas or New Year's tea with your girlfriends at this table?!

Here's a Thanksgiving table idea.
The Pilgrim hats are miniature terra-cotta pots.
I love this idea! What a great way to reuse your cupcake stand. This would be cute with oranges too.
How about a cookie decorating party for the kids? You could have those cookie cutters do double duty as a centerpiece.

This was decidedly my favorite table... and I don't even like sunflowers! I loved how happy the yellow plates are.

Here's another fun table. The whole thing makes me hungry for candy canes!
Umm, genius use of fall foliage! Each gum ball was tied with one of the Fruits of the Spirit. This would be cute with bright fall leaves too.
Finally, here's my table. Have you noticed how popular red and aqua are lately? I wanted to try that color scheme on my table.

I created the napkin rings on Picnik. They look like this:

  1. How clever! Your red and teal are lovely. And I too loved the yellow table. But I think my favorite idea here was the fudge-filled cookie cutters.

  2. Hi Sarah! I happened upon your blog a little while ago and enjoy your ideas. This post especially spoke to me. I loved the table scapes and also looking at the ones from previous years. I especially liked the verses that you shared from Proverbs to help remind us to keep a focus on family and not perfection for the holidays. I needed that reminder as of late!

  4. Julie, SO true! Perfection is not the goal! I just want to create a warm, comfortable atmosphere for my family so we can all remember the true reason for Christmas! Thanks for the reminder.
